Gothic style plaster frame, during restoration.
The plaster frame was completely cleaned and layers of paint removed.
The whole frame was stabilized, cracks were in-filled, and missing mouldings were remodelled and re-cast.
Lime paints were used to re-paint the frame, and gold leaf, and shell gold watercolour paint (23.5ct) were applied to areas where it was evident these golds had been originally used.
